Clinical Significance:
CD79a is a cytoplasmic antigen expressed at all stages of B cell maturation, from lymphoblasts through plasma cells. CD79a expression is decreased in most cases of classical Hodgkin lymphoma, and in a subset of non-Hodgkin B cell lymphomas.
