Methodology: IHC

Clinical Significance:
Identifies a protein unique to the dense core granules of neuroendocrine cells and tumors. It is an excellent marker for carcinoid tumors, pheochromocytomas, paragangliomas, but not as good a marker of high-grade neurendocrine carcinomas as synaptophysin.

Subcellular Localization: Cytoplasmic, often with a granular pattern
