LEF1

Alternate Test Names:
LEF-1; Lymphoid enhancer-binding factor 1

Methodology: IHC

Clinical Significance:
Identifies: Lymphoid enhancer-binding factor 1, a nuclear transcription factor in the WNT/beta-catenin signaling pathway that is normally expressed in T cells and immature pro-B cells, but not in normal mature B cells. LEF-1 is aberrantly expressed in virtually all cases of CLL/SLL, but is almost always negative in mantle cell lymphoma, marginal zone lymphoma, and low-grade follicular lymphoma, and therefore may be helpful in distinguishing CLL/SLL from mantle cell lymphoma.

Subcellular Localization: Nuclear

Organ:

Disease State: Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia / Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma (CLL/SLL), Mantle Cell Lymphoma

CPT Code(s): 88342 or 88341
