Clinical Significance:
Identifies: A dimeric protein produced by and used within the thyroid gland. While it is an excellent marker of metastatic thyroid carcinoma, technical issues with anti-thyroglobulin antibodies, often producing nonspecific signal, make the combination of TTF-1 and PAX-8 expression a better marker of these tumors.
