Identifies: von Willebrand factor (often erroneously referred to as "Factor VIII") is synthesized by endothelial cells and stored in the Weibel-Palade granules. von Willebrand factor can be employed as a marker of vascular neoplasms as well as a marker of megakaryocytic differentiation.
